Why we sell screens you cut yourself
Most window screens are sold as a measurement. Somebody comes out, measures the opening, and three weeks later a made-to-order frame arrives that fits one window in one house and nothing else.
That is a fine way to buy a screen and it is not the only way. Our range includes stock-size screens, mesh and accessories. Some window kits can be trimmed; door curtains must be selected to suit the opening. We also provide a custom-quote route for made-to-measure enquiries.
Check the fitting method
The magnetic screen sticks to a 3M backed strip on the window frame. The velcro edged screen and the cat proof screen use a continuous self adhesive hook and loop tape. The door screen fits inside the frame with velcro and push pins.
Follow the fitting instructions for the product you choose. Adhesives and pins can mark surfaces. Test suitability and check any landlord requirements before fitting.
Being straight about what it is
A mesh screen is not a security screen and it is not an airtight seal. It stops what flies into an open window or doorway, which is what most people actually want in summer.
Where a figure is not published we say so rather than estimate it. The mesh specifications on these pages are the ones our supplier publishes: 18 x 16 standard, 20 x 20 midge, 10 x 16 pet proof, with the thread diameters and open areas beside them.

A self closing magnetic screen door in black or white across 33 sizes, including a caravan size, and an aluminium chain link curtain for a doorway in constant use.
Mesh, frame and hardware
Replacement fibreglass mesh by the cut piece or the roll, PVC frame and magnetic strip by the metre, and the four corner set that joins them.
